Hello there, This might be a lengthy post but I implore you to give it at least one read and consider it.
Before we go in, let me introduce myself: My name's Ken and I am currently a student studying International Law whilst also working as a waiter for a part-time job. (It wont affect my gaming schedule all that much)
How old are you?
I am, as of this post, 20 years old. It might not sound like it, since my voice is high pitched (sadly I can't do anything about it) and because I sometimes stutter (when my French/Vietnamese accent randomly kicks in).
Have you had any experience as staff before?
Yes, I have in fact been admin/staff member beforehand for different, albeit smaller, gaming communities. I've also help in the management and growth of actual companies before (Saint Ange/Studio M Vietnam).
If so list the servers you have staff for.
- XIIHeartsGaming (old TF2 Server) = Admin
- Order of the Phenex (Warframe Guild) = Co-Owner
- Troll Force One (Discord/Gaming Guild) = Owner
- Participant in various minor communities from different varieties of games
Why do you want to be staff?
Because I am absolutely impressed with this small yet active community with it's daily events, active members and a general sense of positivity. It'll be a real blast and excitement to help it grow in any way I possibly can, be it through donations or in game participation with fellow members and newcomers. I want players to feel like they aren't pressured to keep silent and completely obedient to the status-quo in our servers while also making them feel like they are at home. In my opinion, keeping a good attitude and communication with you players who help grow our community is KEY to a successful administration and management, as such I want to keep it in that direction to help this wonderful community grow in a positive light.
Why should we accept you over other applicants?
-I'll be perfectly honest, even if you overlook my 4 years of experience as an admin, I can promise you that I won't and haven't disappointed my peers before. I've never gone around to terrorize or abuse my powers before once in my life, in fact I try to find out different ways to be included and accepted by not only fellow staff members but also newcomers to the servers as well. Make no mistakes, I will deal with trolls and griefers in a respectful manner, being an Admin isn't only about going around and banning people left and right for minor misunderstandings and word-shivs being thrown about like a doll in a kindergarten tea party, I don't care much about players disrespecting/insulting me in particular since I can always take an insult in a video game as grain of salt, however, I will not accept such treatment of fellow staff members.
-In the case of a roleplaying server I can understand that no matter how hard it is to avoid them, there will always be "mingers" and people whom lack any respect for the rules or anyone around them. My goal is to find a way to keep order in the servers while also keeping the fun and cheerful side of managing a server. On a personnal note, I also look forward to sneaking myself into the recruit ranks, pretending to be a newcomer in order to play and make good friends with other ones I mean let's all be honest here, if you were a non staff member in a server you'd be intimidated by admins and staff members around you and as such people will never be honest with each other.
- I want to destroy the concept that admins and staff members are harsh and have no care for non-staff members. In my experience as admin, I've seen a lot of admins abuse their powers before to make others feel inferior or bad about themselves and I condone such distasteful acts. As a staff member I understand that players, be it staff or non staff, are still people in the real world no matter how far you outrank them in-game and as such I treat everyone equally with respect. Hell they might even be more successful than you in the real world than in-game so no point in doing a dick measuring contest in a video game, I wished more admins would understand that notion and that's why I want to break that mold.
-This community has the potential to grow and I want to be part of that growth. I've helped built up and have growned companies/communities both in-game and IRL before and I definitly won't pass the oppurtunity to help this one out as well. You can deny me if you want but I absolutely PLEAD you to understand and comprehend what I have written, that alone would make me happy.
PS: Sorry about this essay-level of text.
Thank you in advance,
Ken
